The big surprise!

I really wanted to do something fun and special for the kids during spring break. My first thought was to go to the science museum again. However, the kids have been asking if we can go back to the Wisconsin Dells and I just thought that this might be a good time to do that. I asked Arlie if he could take time off and he could (Woot, Woot). We decided that we weren't going to tell the kids until we were in the car on the way to the Dells. We would go Tuesday right after my business meeting and then come home Thursday night. The middle of the week was less expensive and we had no activities that we had to skip.

Monday night after the kids went to bed, I drove Pete over to our friends house. Then we packed everything up and put it in the car so that in the morning it was all packed and they wouldn't suspect anything.

When I got home from my business meeting on Tuesday, I told them to put their coats on because we need to go have an adventure. They asked what we were doing and I said that we would figure that out later. They guessed the Science Museum. We didn't tell them differently until we got to Hudson and they finally realized we had been driving long enough that we should've gotten to the Science Museum. We had them guess. We asked them where they've been asking us to take them. We heard things like "Florida, Okaboji, Science Museum (Sydney really wanted to go there)". We finally when we told them it wasn't in Minnesota but in Wisconsin, they guessed it. They were happy and surprised. Then wondered what they were going to wear because they didn't pack ;)

We stayed at The Wilderness.

It has two indoor water parks and a indoor wave pool as well as an indoor play place with an arcade, indoor laser tag, bowling, work out facilities and so much more. The place was HUGE! The water parks were pretty cool, however, all the big "adult" slides were looped outside and were pitch black. I'm extremely claustrophobic and can't do tunnels in the dark and the kids don't like the dark so we didn't get to go on the big slides like we had been thinking we would. Regardless the kids had a ton of fun swimming, going on the lazy river, playing in the waves and climbing all over the kids stuff. I loved being able to play swim for as little or as long as we want and not care because it was included in the room price! Back at our room, we played a lot of games together.

First injury :(

On Tuesday night, Jordan asked to try pizza...but only sausage pizza. He didn't have to ask us twice. That night we went out for pizza for him! He ate a couple of pieces and said he liked it "ok", although it wasn't his favorite.

On Wednesday during the day we went to the Tommy Bartlet Exploratory. It's an interactive science center and super cool. It made up for not going to the science museum.

After we checked out on Thursday we went to Wizards Quest. It's a game where you walk into different zones: Water, air, land, and fire. You find clues and answer questions and get points to try and find and free the wizards. You have 90 minutes to try and free all 4 wizards to win the game. We had a ton of fun, but lost. We couldn't find two of the wizards. They were hiding too well :) They change the clues and where the wizards are every day so each time you play it's different. The kids loved it and it was one of their favorite things that we did.

Our surprise ended up being a wonderful break in the middle of the week that we all enjoyed very much. Every agreed that the best part was hanging out with the family! I sure do love those kiddos and that husband of mine!

Each of us in with our favorite dessert. Me with a hot drink, Jordan and Sydney with Cheesecake on a stick and Sydney with Ice Cream!
