I did not know that

Me: "Sydney, guess what?"

Sydney: "You love me!"

Me: "Yep...guess how much?"

Sydney: "As much as the Earth?"

Me: "Nope...more than that!"

Sydney: "As much as Mars?"

Me: "Nope...more than that!"

Sydney: "As much as the Milky Way?"

Me: "I love you as much as the entire universe and more"

Sydney: "Do you know why the Milky Way is called the Milky Way?"

Me: "why?"

Sydney: "Because it's made entirely of milk. Milk, milk, milk, milk, milk. It's milky. So it's the milky way!"

hmmm.....

I'm so proud!

Today, being it was beautiful and 80 degrees, Arlie and I decided to break out the ole' roller blades and take the kids for a bike ride. Sydney learned to ride without training wheels so she can actually keep up with us now (or at least ride at a decent speed). We biked/bladed from our house to the trails at Bunker. The kids made it all the way to Foley (which is about 1 1/2 miles from our house). They probably could've made it longer. They were doing great. We just didn't want to push it the first time on a decent bike ride. All together, they did over 3 miles. We were so proud of them. They loved it and make us excited about this summer!

Sydney needed to stop and push her hair out of her eyes, so Arlie and Jordan stopped and waited. As she got closer to them, she said, "Sorry Fellows, for keeping you waiting." I laughed at the "fellows". Arlie told me earlier in the day she called him a clever fellow.

I love...Ice cream....

TRUCKS! I think it's so great to open the window and hear the ice cream truck playing it's music while it drives down the road. The kids get so excited as they all race into their houses to grab money and try and get out before he drives past. It's never ceases to make me smile. I love the ice cream truck!

Easter pictures

My cute kids... ;)

Easter Egg Hunt

On Easter we had an Easter egg hunt out in the backyard with the kids. First they had to find their baskets then the eggs Arlie hide all around. It was pretty entertaining and took probably 20-30 minutes. It was the first year we actually hide eggs. Prior years we only hid their baskets.

"Jordan running to the basket he just found"

"There is my basket!"

The kids looking all over for the eggs hidden in the tree...if only they would turn around and look up. ;)

Snow Goose Hunting

Arlie went snow goose hunting in the cold last weekend. He went down by Aberdeen and said the wind was not fun, but the hunting was! Here's what he brought home!

Imagination anyone?

My son does not lack in imagination (neither does my daughter) and today he had a good one. We were at the Minnesota Zoo and he needed to use the bathroom. We have a dad in our playgroup, so he volunteered to take him so I didn't have to. When he got back with Jordan he said, "Well, I've just been informed that Jordan only spends two days a week with you and Arlie and the rest of the week he spends with his real family. Oh and his real family is a family of bats, who fly and live in a bat cave...and they let him do whatever he wants. When he was little they brought him to you and Arlie to let him live with you just temporarily twice a week."

It was nice to know that we can't be blamed for everything then because I'm sure all the bad things he learns are from the bats! ;)

Grandma Complex

So...when Sydney was about a year and a half, I was at Walmart and this lady comes up to me and say, "Oh, is that your granddaughter?" Now remember i'm only 25 or 26 at this point. Thinking that she must have said it wrong I asked her, "I'm sorry, what did you say?" Again she repeated, "Is that your granddaughter?" I just smiled and said, "Nope, this is my daughter". "Oh" she said with a kind of confused sound to her voice. I quickly went outside and (I believe Arlie was gone hunting) I called my mom and said, "Do I look old? Someone just asked if Sydney was my granddaughter." She calmed me down and said they were probably blind or insane ;) What a great mom I have.

Well...Sunday I was doing a photo shoot. There was a two year old that was part of this shoot. She thought I looked like her grandma...she called me grandma and she only wanted to sit with me (because she thought I was her Grandma). She kept saying, "I sit with grandma, I sit with grandma." The couple informed me that I shouldn't be insulted because their grandma looks really young and has short blonde hair. I'm not sure how to take this... I'm only 30 and I'm already being called grandma and my hair isn't even gray! ;) What's going to happen at 31.....
