Cousins

Sydney and Jordan love their cousins. I wish I could record their conversations...they are so entertaining. They spent hours looking or being Phantoms (no clue where they got that). They are always watching the other kids and doing what they do...especially Riley.

Ben and Deanna have a great tree climbing tree, so all the kids had fun doing that...although they couldn't get up it by themselves. They played at the park for several hours and then did a tractor pull. All the kids were in a different age category. The top three from each age got a trophy, the rest got a ribbon. All our kids received ribbons. Sydney did the best of the kids. They changed the weight for each age level, except for 5 year old and 6 year olds which was the same weight. Sydney placed 8 out of 22 kids and 5 of them were within an inch or two of her. She was the 2nd place girl in her age group. When you see the pictures, look at the difference in the faces of the Jacob and Riley with their ribbons and my kids with their ribbons....can you guess who are more competitive? ;) I'm not sure where they get that!

On sunday we enjoyed church and then a wonderful afternoon at the beach. We played lots of frizbee and the kids loved playing in the sand and sometimes in the water (except for Jacob who was in the water almost the entire time...it was cold too).

Redneck Parade

Last weekend, we got to go to Ben and Deanna's house in Hills Minnesota and spend some time with them. While we were there they just happen to be having their "Hill's days" celebration in town...with a parade and all. There was candy and that made the parade a great parade right there. The floats..well...there wasn't any floats, but the tractors were great too!! ;)

What do you do while waiting for a parade...stand like a flamingo

They claimed the parade was starting....hmmm......

The very first float behind the flags...don't mock it..she had candy!

They spaced out the "parade participants"....the parade lasted an hour ;)

This was one of several trucks.... ;) They were even washed and shiny for us!

My favorite "float". The suburban even had antlers on the front of it!

Jordan's look says it all. If they don't have candy, they shouldn't be in the parade ;)

They had horses! AMAZING! ;)

Despite all the picking on the parade that we did...we all had a great time! It was perfect weather and we enjoyed the company!

How sad.....

I told Sydney that this weekend we got to go and see someone very special. She looked up at me and said, "Are they dead?"
