Over the forth of July weekend, we had a "family reunion" with the Gunion side of the family at Arlen and Debbie's cabin. Only a few of them could make it, but we had a blast! We couldn't have asked for better weather. We spent the majority of the time on the lake. We went water skiing, jet skiing, tubing, fishing, swimming, and sailing/kayaking. Arlen and Debbie bought the grand kids a beginner ski. Jordan tried it a few times, but couldn't seem to get the hang of it. He, however, loved kayaking and did that for hours in the little bay that Arlen and Debbie live on.
Sydney caught on to it right away and spent a couple of hours water skiing (over the weekend). We had to convince her to stop and let someone else have a turn!
We spent some time around the fire at night. We listened to Grandpa playing the hermonica, cooked marshmellows, chatted and enjoyed the lake evenings.
Arlen bought some fire works and sparklers. When it got dark we had our own little show. Then we watched about 4 other displays while sitting on the dock. They were pretty far away, but some of them were still pretty good. Unfortunately for me, it wasn't the same as sitting under the fireworks (something i LOVE to do)...next year we'll make sure we do that :)
