Pinewood Derby

Jordan and Sydney both made Pinewood derby cars at church. They got to decorate them, but the church weighted them and put wheels on them...and then Sunday after church they had a huge race. What I mean by huge is...there were six lanes. Every car got to race on every lane. There were 40 some cars....that makes for hours of racing and over 240 individual races. They averaged the races together to find the winners. It was actually kind of a cool way to do it (besides being long) because some races the kids won and some they got 4th or 5th. It really depended on who they were racing against and the lane they were in. Sydney's car was number 55 and Jordan's car was the blue car with flames on the back (can't remember his cars number). There was only 1 car that won every race. The kids watched for about 1 1/2 hours and then we left because they got bored. We found out the next time we were at church that both our kids got second place in their division and both of them got a medal. They were very excited about that.
